The Pansagong Branch of Pyeongsan Sin Clan gather in Jungdeul Village. The Head House, Seodang, and Yeongjeonggak Pavilion all lay next to each other beside the small traditional square-layout Tteuljip, Seobyeok Historic House.
The house is 285 years old, and the family set great store by the tradition to hold Gilsa (traditional ceremony) until 90’s. The five-room house is facing southeast, standing its back to the low hill in front of the village.
Sin Hanchang is a meritorious retainer at the founding of Goryeo Dynasty, general Jangjeolgong Sin Seunggyeom's 26th descendants, and Bulhwonje Sin Hyeon’s 14th descendants. The house was build when Sin Hanchang moved out, and it was named after his great-grandson Sin Chigu’s penname as he built an extension during 15th year of King Yeongjo(1739). The scholar’s life of simplicity remains intact at the historic house.
Seobyeok Historic House was first designated as Gyeongsangbuk-do Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 101, later promoted to Important Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 282-2 along with the Head House of the Pansagong Branch of Pyeongsan Sin Clan (Important Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 282-1), and Sanam Historic House (Important Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 282-3) on June 19th, 2014.
